Investing in Penn State Hillel

1. Life at Penn State Hillel is vibrant; it's energizing, and it is about being Jewish. Penn State Hillel provides exciting social, educational, religious, and cultural programming for Penn State's 4,000 Jewish students. These Jewish students will graduate from Penn State, disperse, and with your help and ours, have the opportunity to become future Jewish leaders.
   
   
2. Tzedakah (Justice) is the right thing to do, and it is a mitzvah (good deed). What could be better than your gift providing opportunities for Jewish students to learn to teach others the significance of Jewish life.
   
   
3. The need is essential for our Jewish continuity. Penn State has a large Jewish student community and is located in the middle of the state where there is one Jewish synagogue consisting of approximately 210 families. Although the State College Jewish community supports Penn State Hillel as best it can, such a small community cannot provide adequately for Penn State Hillel or the needs of our 4,000 Jewish students. Furthermore, State College does not have a Jewish Federation, and only 1-2 Jewish students per year come to Penn State from the State College Jewish community.
   
   
4. Support for our young Jewish adults at Penn State Hillel is important. Since we are located away from other major Jewish organizations, Penn State Hillel must be the JCC, the synagogue, the AIPAC, the ADL, and the Israel Education Center. We must safeguard our Jewish community and provide for our students' needs.
   
   
5. Your help is needed now. Unlike Federation city-based universities, Penn State Hillel must raise 70% of our annual budget every year from friends like you. Your gifts and commitment to Penn State Hillel are our life-line; your generosity keeps Jewish life at Penn State alive!!!
