Kosher for Passover Meals Available on Campus

Jewish students, faculty, and staff who wish to adhere to kosher dietary laws during Passover can take part in the kosher for Passover meals being served on campus.

Kosher lunches and dinners will be available at the Waring Dining Commons in West Halls. The all-you-care-to-eat meals can be purchased with the A-La Board meal plan, as well as cash and LionCash+. To buy a meal, participants must first register at www.kosherfoodrocks.psu.edu before Friday, March 7, 2008

The meals will begin with brunch on April 20 and end with brunch on April 27. Lunch is $9.75 (or 290 ala board points) and dinner and brunch is $11.50 (or 345 ala board points).

Lunch will be a dairy menu featuring matzoh pizza, vegetables, salads, cheese, fruit, Pepsi, and more. Dinner will be a meat menu featuring baked chicken, pasta (kosher for Passover egg noodles), vegetables, fruit, Pepsi, and more.

All food is orthodox kosher certified. Questions regarding specific certifications, direct all questions to Jeremy Weisblatt, Student Kosher Food Coordinator at jrw5002@gmail.com. Food Services turns to Rabbi Joel Roth of the Jewish Theological Seminary for legal questions when they arise.

Chabad on Campus at Penn State will also be providing a Kosher Passover Meal plan under the supervision of Rabbi Nosson Meretsky. This plan will only be for the dinner meals and will take place at the Rohr Jewish Center off campus. For more information and to sign up, visit www.gotmatza.com.
